How to Charge a Foger Vape (With or Without the Battery or Charger)

Most Foger vapes charge the same way as a phone: plug a USB-C cable into the port, wait for the screen to show it is full, and unplug. The confusing part is the Foger Switch Pro, because it comes in two pieces and the pod has its own small battery. This guide covers both current Foger models sold in the US, the Foger Switch Pro and the Foger Bit 35K, with simple steps and animations for each one.

Quick answer

  1. Use a standard USB-C cable and a basic USB wall adapter, laptop port or power bank.
  2. On the Switch Pro, plug the cable into the port at the bottom of the screen on the battery base.
  3. Look for the green lightning bolt next to the battery percentage. That means it is charging.
  4. Unplug when the screen reads 100%. The Switch Pro base takes about 45 minutes from empty.

First, which Foger vape do you have?

Foger sells two very different designs, and the charging steps change a little between them. Look at your device and match it to one of these.

How to charge a Foger Switch Pro

The Switch Pro has one charging port, and it is on the battery base. You charge the base, and the base then refills the small battery inside the pod.

1

Find the USB-C port on the base

Turn the device so you are looking at the screen side of the battery base. The oval USB-C port sits just below the screen. The small hole above the screen is for a lanyard, not for charging.

2

Plug in a USB-C cable

Push the USB-C end of the cable all the way into the port. Plug the other end into a USB wall adapter, a laptop or a power bank. You can leave the pod attached or take it off. Both ways work.

3

Check that it is charging

When power is flowing, the whole screen lights up and a green lightning bolt appears next to the battery percentage. If the screen stays dark, see the fixes further down.

4

Unplug at 100%

Unplug once the screen shows 100%. There is no need to leave it on the charger longer. If the pod is attached and its own battery is low, the base will start topping up the pod, and a small green battery icon shows on the screen while that happens.

How to charge a Foger Bit 35K

The Bit 35K is simpler because the battery is built into the body. There is nothing to take apart.

  1. Find the USB-C port on the device. It is the only oval port on the body.
  2. Plug in a USB-C cable and connect it to a wall adapter, laptop or power bank.
  3. Watch the curved screen for the battery level to rise.
  4. Unplug when it reads full.

What charger does a Foger vape use?

Both Foger models use a USB-C port, the same type used by most new Android phones, iPads and many laptops. That means:

  • Any normal USB-C cable will fit. If your box did not include a cable, a USB-A to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C cable both work.
  • A basic phone wall adapter is the safest power source. You do not need a special vape charger.
  • Older micro-USB cables and Lightning cables (from older iPhones) will not fit.

Can you use or charge a Foger vape without the battery?

This is the most searched Foger question, and the answer depends on your model.

Foger Switch Pro: yes, for a short time

The Switch Pro pod has its own small 200mAh battery inside. So when you pull the pod off the base, it still hits. This is handy while the base is charging.

But that pod battery is small, so it will not last long on its own. When it runs low, clip the pod back onto the base and the base will recharge it. The pod gets its power through the base, so the base is the part you plug in.

One thing that confuses people: the percentage on the screen only shows the base battery, not the pod. So your Switch Pro might read 0% or 1% and still hit, because the pod still has charge. Versed Vaper's review suggests charging the base once it reads 0%. If you keep vaping after that, you are draining the pod battery instead.

Foger Bit 35K: no

The Bit 35K battery is sealed inside the body. There is no separate battery to remove, so you simply charge the whole device through its USB-C port.

Do not try to "hotwire" or wire a pod to a battery. Some videos show people connecting wires to a pod or opening the battery. This can cause a short circuit, burns or a fire. If your base is lost or broken, replace it instead.

How to charge a Foger vape without a charger

"No charger" usually means no wall adapter. You still need a USB-C cable, but you can power it from almost anything with a USB port:

  • Laptop or desktop computer: plug into any USB port. It is slower than a wall adapter but works fine.
  • Power bank: great for travel. Use the same cable you use for your phone.
  • Car USB port: works while the car is running.
  • A friend's phone charger: any USB-C phone charger fits.
  • Game consoles and TVs: many have a USB port on the side or back that gives a slow charge.

If you have no cable at all, there is no safe way to charge a Foger. Pick up a USB-C cable at any gas station, convenience store or phone store.

How long does a Foger vape take to charge?

  • Switch Pro base: about 45 minutes from empty to full, based on Versed Vaper's hands-on testing.
  • Bit 35K: it supports fast USB-C charging, but we could not find a published charge time. Watch the screen and unplug when it is full.

Charging from a laptop or TV port can take longer than from a wall adapter.

Foger vape not charging? Try these fixes

Work down this list in order. Most charging problems are fixed in the first three steps.

  1. Push the cable in all the way. USB-C should click in firmly. A loose fit is the most common cause.
  2. Try a different cable. Cheap or old cables often break inside, even when they look fine.
  3. Try a different power source. Switch from a laptop to a wall adapter, or try another outlet.
  4. Clean the port. Pocket lint and dust pack into the port over time. Gently brush it out with a dry soft brush or a blast of canned air. Never use metal, water or alcohol.
  5. Check the screen for the green lightning bolt (Switch Pro). No bolt after a minute means no power is getting in.
  6. Let it cool down. If the device feels warm, unplug it and let it sit for 15 minutes before trying again.
  7. Pod not charging? Clip it back onto the base firmly. The magnets should snap it into place. Look for the small green battery icon on the screen.

If none of this works, the battery or charging board may be faulty. Since these are disposable-style devices, the practical fix is to replace the device, or just the base if you have a Switch Pro.

Charging safety tips

Stop using the device and unplug it right away if it: gets hot to hold, swells or bulges, hisses, smells like burning plastic, or leaks from the battery area.

  • Charge on a hard surface, not on your bed, couch or a pile of clothes.
  • Do not leave it charging overnight or while you are away from home.
  • Do not charge it if it got wet. Let it dry fully first, or replace it.
  • Keep it out of hot cars and direct sun.
  • Recycle dead vapes at a battery or e-waste drop-off. Do not throw them in household trash.

FAQs

Does the Foger vape come with a charger?

Do not count on a wall adapter in the box. If your box has no USB-C cable either, any standard USB-C cable works, and any phone wall adapter can power it.

Can you vape a Foger while it is charging?

Yes. The Switch Pro supports pass-through charging, so you can use it while it is plugged in. You can also pull the pod off and use it on its own while the base charges.

How do I know my Foger vape is charging?

On the Switch Pro, the whole screen lights up and a green lightning bolt shows next to the battery percentage. On the Bit 35K, the battery level on the screen rises.

Why does my Foger say 0% but still hits?

On the Switch Pro, the screen only shows the base battery. The pod has its own small battery, so it keeps working for a while after the base reads 0%. Charge the base soon so the pod is not drained.

Can I charge the Switch Pro pod without the base?

No. The pod is recharged by the base. Clip it back onto a charged base to refill its battery.

Can I use my iPhone charger?

Yes, if it is a USB-C cable. Newer iPhones (iPhone 15 and later) use USB-C, so their cables fit. Older iPhone Lightning cables will not fit, but the wall adapter itself works with a USB-C cable.

Is it safe to use a fast charger?

A standard phone wall adapter is fine. USB-C chargers only send extra power to devices that ask for it. To be extra safe, use a basic adapter and do not charge unattended.

The bottom line

To charge any current Foger vape, plug a USB-C cable into the port and unplug when the screen reads 100%. On the Switch Pro, the port is on the battery base, the pod charges from the base, and the green lightning bolt tells you power is flowing. The pod can run for a short time without the base, but it always needs the base to recharge. Skip any wiring tricks you see online. A cheap USB-C cable is the only charger you need.
